·       Order your wedding gown and undergarments, if applicable

·       Order all additional accessories- veil, shoes, etc, if applicable

·       Begin shopping for wedding party dresses, if applicable

·       Choose and reserve your band/DJ, photographer/videographer, caterer, officiant, and florist

·       Start looking at invitation designs

·       Start looking at cake and cupcake designs

·       Send out Save the Date cards, if applicable

·       Begin looking at wedding gift registries



·       Order your wedding invitations and thank you cards

·       Finalize your registries

·       Select and purchase wedding favors

·       Schedule cake tastings and order your cake or cupcakes

·       Book your honeymoon and verify your travel documents

·       Book a hotel room for yourself, and secure a block of rooms for your guests

·       Reserve transportation for yourself and your wedding party

·       Choose your hair and makeup artists and schedule trials

·       Book nail and/or tanning appointments for 2-3 days before the wedding



·       Obtain a marriage license (no more than 90 days out)

·       Confirm your rehearsal time with me

·       Order suits or tuxedos, if applicable (see me about a Friar Tux discount)

·       Meet with your caterer to taste meals and finalize your menu

·       Meet or speak with your officiant to discuss ceremony details, wording, and wedding vows

·       Select readings, if applicable

·       Select and purchase wedding rings

·       Coordinate and choose a location for the rehearsal dinner

·       Look into any necessary rentals such as tables, chairs, umbrellas, heaters, etc


·       Mail invitations eight weeks before the wedding and have your wedding website up-to-date with out of town info

·       Compile and complete name change documents for use after the wedding, and make appointments at the DMV and Social Security office, if one or both of you are changing your name

·       Purchase thank you gifts for your wedding party

·       Purchase a guest book and any personal accessories such as toasting flutes, cake cutting set, ring pillow, etc.

·       Plan and enjoy your wedding celebration parties

·       Schedule your venue walkthrough with me and your venue representative and caterer


·       Create a seating chart and make escort cards or poster chart

·       Contact your venue or caterer with your final guest count; include vendor meals!

·       Complete your venue walkthrough

·       Finalize your timeline with me; along with other pertinent details I need and will send (ceremony processional outline, wedding vendor contact sheet, etc.)

·       Meet or speak with your photographer and florist to finalize details

·       Finalize your ceremony music and song list for your musicians or DJ.  A DJ will perform best when you allow him to use creativity.  Pick a few “do not play” and “must play” songs, and let him do the rest!

·       Confirm lodging for your out-of-town guests

·       Pick up your wedding rings and ensure a good fit

·       Schedule a final dress fitting

·       Purchase alcohol, if you will be providing your own

·       Write your thank you speech, if you will be giving one at the rehearsal dinner or reception


·       Write out final checks and gather cash gratuities.  Organize in envelopes and give to me at the rehearsal for distribution

·       Pick up your wedding gown from the tailor, boutique, or steamer, if applicable

·       Confirm transportation

·       Pack for your honeymoon and confirm reservations

·       Treat yourself to a massage or spa day


·       Welcome out-of-town guests as they arrive

·       Attend the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner and enjoy!

·       Do not wash your hair if you are having it professionally styled for the wedding.  Do not use any new makeup or skincare products, as they may have an adverse reaction


·       Eat a healthy and hearty breakfast- you will need your energy and don’t want to be one of those “fainting brides” I have heard about.

·       Enjoy it; it is finally here and everything will be wonderful!
